The Aina Shop, an artisan support project of Expanding Opportunities, local non profit organization, is planning “Main Street Art Market and Wellness Festival”, scheduled for Saturday August 9, 2014 in downtown Belfast (between Rollie’s and Traci’s Diner). The FREE TO THE PUBLIC event is scheduled to run from 9 am until 5 pm and invites you to join in!
The Art Market is open to Vendors and seeks local Maine artists as well and cultural art that is ethically and responsibly sourced. Some spaces will be designated to local farmers with fresh Maine made goods and produce and food trucks. This event promises to be a fun time as we seek out talent, musicians and dancers and other performances and will be free to the public, while donations will be encouraged. A children’s booth with Camp Forest will offer face painting, basket making and other crafts with nature in mind and invites you or your organization to participate.
Performers are also invited to fill the day with fun, energetic and culturally diverse entertainment.
Inside the building, a fashion show will take place at noon and feature handmade and fair trade worldly fashions with a purpose.
We encourage you to bring your goods, talents, performances and friends and get involved!
Can your Main Street business give a donation to support this event? Monetary donations will allow us to secure the location and hire local talent, while your donated goods will be entered in a raffle at the front table. Or, are you interested in a table to promote your business and promote community building?
Anyone interested in taking part of this fun experience is encouraged to call Nicole at 930-8012. for more information on Expanding Opportunities, please visit www.exop.org.
We hope you will get involved.
