MACHIAS, Maine — The finale of the Machias 250th Birthday Historic Lecture Series on 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 15. National Park Ranger Meg Scheid will present to us on the history of the St. Croix Island International Historic Site. Come learn about the cruel winter of 1604-1605, Pierre Dugua’s expedition, and the beginning of the French presence in North America. The event will be held at the Kay Parker Building on Hadley Lake Road in Machias. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of Hannaford Supermarket.
