Members of the Modern Woodmen of America 13000 Chapter, of West Gardiner, will sponsor a fundraising public supper to benefit The Maine Chapter, National organization of Parents of Murdered Children. The event will be held on May 17, at the Capital Area Technical Center, 40 Pierce Drive, Augusta. There will be two seating times, one from 4:30 to 5:30pm and another from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to connect through social activities and volunteer projects.
The menu for this fundraiser includes an assortment of casserole dishes, salads, and drinks prepared by Chef Izzy and students of the culinary arts program. There will also be an assortment of home made desserts raffles and drawings. The money raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen’s home office, up to $2500, through the fraternal benefit society’s Matching Fund Program and will be used to complete the construction and landscaping of the Maine Murder Victims’ Memorial Monument in Augusta.
The Matching Funds Program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chances to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers. These fundraisers contribute more than 6.5 million to community needs nationwide each year. For more information about how you can contribute to this fundraising event, contact Arthur Jette, at 207-270-2999.
As a tax exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve the quality of life of its stakeholders– members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities. Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide more than $23 million, and nearly 1 million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
