“Local Coast Guard Auxiliary Offers Safe Boating Course”
BANGOR, MAINE – The Bangor Flotilla of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer a Boating Skills & Seamanship Course at Bangor High School beginning September 15th and running twelve consecutive Monday and Wednesday evenings until October 22nd.
Classes will run from 6:30-8:30 PM each evening with no classes being held during school vacation or snow days.
The cost of this course is $40, which includes the textbook while additional family members can attend and share the textbook for only $5.00 each. Attendees can attend and register the night of the first class on September 15th.
Classes are taught by local Coast Guard Auxiliary Officers and open to anyone wishing to improve their boating skills and will include: Equipping Your Boat, Trailering, Rules of the Road, VHF Radio, Lines & Knots, Weather, Paddle Smart and an Introduction to Navigation.
