Levant child to be head shaver at Bruins Cuts for a Cause

BOSTON, Mass. — Bruins Forward Shawn Thornton is teaming up with 98.5 The Sports Hub and members of the 2013-14 Bruins roster for the seventh annual “Cuts for a Cause” event 2:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, 50 Park Plaza, Arlington, Boston, Mass.

One of the head shavers will be 6-year-old Maggie, a cancer patient at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. Maggie, who lives in Levant, Maine, has aplastic anemia and recently had a bone marrow transplant.

Thornton and teammates Matt Bartkowski, Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Gregory Campbell,

Jordan Caron, Zdeno Chara, Dougie Hamilton, Jarome Iginla, Chad Johnson, Chris Kelly, Torey

Krug, Milan Lucic, Andrej Meszaros, Kevan Miller, Adam McQuaid, Daniel Paille, Corey Potter,

Dennis Seidenberg, Reilly Smith, and Carl Soderberg will all have their heads shaved by auction

winners to show their support and raise money for the Shawn Thornton Foundation, Boston Bruins

Foundation, and Floating Hospital for Children.

Head shavers will meet and greet the players on the event floor and receive a special Bruins gift bag that includes autographed Bruins memorabilia.

Fans can purchase tickets to the event, hosted by Shawn Thornton along with Fred “Toucher”

Toettcher and Rich Shertenlieb of the Toucher & Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub, at

bostonbruins.com/cutsforacause. VIP tickets are $150 and general admission tickets are $30. Ticket

prices do not include processing fees.
