BANGOR, Maine — A ceremony commemorating the signing of the armistice ending the Korean War will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 27, at the State of Maine official memorial at the Mount Hope Cemetery on State Street. The armistice was signed 10 p.m. July 27, 1953 (Korean time).
The consul general of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yong Joo, will be the principal speaker along with several local participants, including Hal Wheeler, Richard Bowden, Bill Jones, Don Baker and Ed Davis, Master of Ceremony. The public is welcome.
