ROCKLAND, Maine – Knox County Republicans have raised more than $81,000 for the Help Heat Homes program, which helped 246 local households in need.

The funds were administered by Penquis and 100 percent went directly to buy fuel when federal funding for the Low income Home Energy Assistance Programs funding was cut.  Some of those involved in the handing off of the check were Pinny Beebe, Penquis Manager in Rockland; Jan Dolcater, former Knox County Republican Chairman; Paula Sutton, vice Chair; and Bob Carter, current Chairman.

The program will continue for the upcoming season.
