UNION, Maine — The Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its Spring Plant Sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Union Fairgrounds. The event will offer bareroot fruit trees and berries, conifers, and mostly native shrubs and trees for landscaping and conservation, grapes, asparagus, and rhubarb, native groundcovers and vines for sun and shade, and Maine organically grown herbs and native perennials from Rebel Hill Farm. Herbs and perennials will be sold on Saturday only.
The sale also will include an Education Fair on Saturday with a line-up of 10-minute talks on everything from What to Plant in a Wet Spot to Interpreting Your Soil Test Results, ongoing demonstrations on how to plant and prune plants, and exhibits by local conservation, gardening and agricultural organizations.
