Yogi P & the Funky Shanti, Burlington, VT’s premiere Kirtan band, comes once again to Maine with their infectious style of call-and-response mantra music that will chase away the winter blues and fill hearts with the awakening of spring.

On Friday, April 11, Yogi P and the Funky Shanti will return to HeartStone House in Hampden to offer a fun evening of Kirtan (devotional chanting) starting at 7 p.m. Suggested donation of $10-$20 can be made at the door. No experience needed to participate! Kirtan programs will also take place in Bangor, Bar Harbor, Belfast, Blue Hill, Camden, and Ellsworth.

The Vermont band is comprised of three musicians. Patrick McAndrew, vocalist, guitarist and yoga teacher, loves to build community and celebration through sacred music. Heidi Champney (violin, vocals) is a sound healer who reminds all that your singing voice is your birthright. New this year is Greg Alexander, Reiki master, who proves that three’s a charm, adding his soaring vocals, stellar harmonium riffs, and sparkling presence to the mix.

Yogi P & the Funky Shanti will also present special yoga and sound workshops in Bangor and Bar Harbor. For more info, contact Heidi at, Patrick McAndrew on Facebook at “Yogi Patrick,” or “Healing and Expressive Arts Retreats of Maine” on Facebook.
