LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options, recently announced that Kathryn Caiazzo, RN, MS, has joined the organization as manager, care management. MCHO is a nonprofit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses.
MCHO plans became available for enrollment on Oct. 1, for coverage beginning as early as Jan. 1, 2014. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan, MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
In her new role, Caiazzo will provide operational leadership for MCHO’s care management team. Her many responsibilities will include monitoring and documenting the quality of care management staff interactions. She will ensure that services are provided in accordance with National Committee of Quality Assurance standards and all Federal and State requirements.
Previously, Caiazzo worked at Maine Medical Partners, MaineHealth Cardiology where she managed state and federal quality programs. She has leadership experience as a clinical educator nurse leader at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center. Caiazzo has also led quality improvement efforts.
Caiazzo is a certified clinical nurse leader who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maine and her Master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. She lives in Westbrook with her husband and daughter.
