The Woodland Lady Dragons will host the first annual Pink Zone game against the Calais Lady Blue Devils on Wednesday, February 6 at 5 p.m. (Junior Varsity) & 6:30 p.m. (Varsity). Calais Regional Hospital is sponsoring the game to raise awareness about breast cancer.
For this one night fans are asked to drop their team colors and unite together by wearing pink to the game. And, yes, real men wear pink too! All fans wearing pink will be eligible for special door prizes. There will also be a $50 prize awarded for ‘Best Pink Attire’, sponsored by V.L. Tammaro Oil Co.
CRH will have Breast Cancer Awareness information and promotional items available at the game. Survivors are encouraged to attend and will be recognized during halftime of the varsity game.
Early detection and educating yourself about breast cancer can be two of the best possible “medicines” toward fighting the disease. Women in their 20’s and 30’s should have clinical breast exams at least every 3 years. Screening mammograms should begin at the age of 40. Remember, once is not enough – the key to mammography screening is that it be done routinely each year.
Please join the Lady Dragons and Lady Blue Devils in your most outlandish apparel or just something positively pink as we unite as one community to raise awareness, remember those touched by breast cancer and celebrate the many survivors.
