Johnny Appleseed Day event March 11 benefits Morris Farm Trust

WISCASSET, Maine — Johnny Appleseed Day will be celebrated with a fundraising event for Morris Farm Trust on March 11, at Savory Maine, a Damariscotta-based bistro focused on serving organic, fresh and locally sourced foods. Seating will be at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. There will be a three-course meal, wine and a keynote presentation by John Bunker, a nationally recognized expert in historic fruit and founder of The Maine Heritage Orchard. The menu will include a choice of appetizer of apple butternut squash soup, Remember the Garden salad or haddock chowder; entree of pork tenderloin with caramelized apples, onions and rosemary, scallops Florentine or maple ginger Tempeh sauteed with wild mushrooms and shallots; and dessert of Tart Normande aux Pommes.
