The Caribou viking teams playing in the tournament games 56-57 and 57-58 seasons and playing into the finals both years, … winning it all in eastern Maine in 57-58 are games I’ll never forget. It seemed the whole town of Caribou was there and we had to get by Bill Cohen’s led teams with our Pete Kelly led teams both years…I remember both Bangor and Brewer seemed to have excellent teams , while Caribou and Sterns were from the far north. Upon retiring to Maine from living many places in the US I took my wife to a high school game in Aroostook County and she was shocked,the noise and excitement rivaled her College games and she loved it…We will be making the trip tomorrow to the big show that ends another era not only in my life … but the state of Maines.
