BAR HARBOR — The Institute for Integrative Living will host an evening viewing of TED Talks at the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. on various facets of education in today’s changing world with an accompanying discussion. Participants are invited to come prepared to delve into questions such as: How do we best educate ourselves and others to face the challenges present in today’s word and respond with creativity and compassion? How do we lead informed lives in an increasingly complex and interconnected world? What are the educational implications of mass media, commercials, and news today?
The evening will begin with a viewing of two TED Talks.
“Like so many people, we here at the Institute for Integrative Living have been inspired by the ideas presented in TED Talks,” explains IIL co-director Dennis Kiley. “We think this will be a great opportunity to come together and let these talks be the beginning of a deeper conversation and exploration of what it is really important.”
