An In-depth look at Clivus Wastewater Treatment

with Geoff Goodhue

Come learn about composting toilet and greywater irrigation systems from Clivus New England representative Geoff Goodhue. This program will feature a tour of the recently renovated Clivus Multrum composting toilet system in the Good Life Center house, originally installed by the Nearings. Witness the introduction of beneficial bacteria and red wiggler worms into the composter as Geoff demonstrates typical maintenance procedures and describes all aspects of the system.

Geoff will discuss the moldering process and how it can be used to convert human waste into safe, nutrient rich fertilizer. He will share knowledge and experience in this exciting means of water conservation and nutrient recycling through photographs and description of installations throughout New England, ranging from remote camps to large scale commercial and public facilities.

Geoff Goodhue began working with Clivus New England in 2006 and has dedicated much of his energy since then to building relationships with Clivus owners throughout New England, meticulously installing, maintaining and remediating their systems. Geoff studied Music and Environmental Studies at Ohio University and can be found performing with his family bluegrass band or with the Bread and Puppet circus band. Geoff has worked seasonally as a backcountry steward at Baxter State Park and with the Green Mountain Club. He currently resides in East Hardwick, Vermont.
