Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center in Damariscotta is excited to announce its “Imagine the Possibilities” Logo Design Contest. The purpose of the contest is to design a fashionable and artful limited edition logo that captures the essence and exciting benefits of the Coastal Community Center’s Senior Fitness and Functional Movement Program. First year implementation funding for the Center’s Senior Fitness and Functional Movement Program, which supports regional efforts to build a healthy community for active aging, was made possible through grants from the Maine Community Foundation, Miles Memorial Hospital League and a private donation.
This is a lifestyle program designed to promote independence, change negative behaviors and mindsets, delay or prevent the onset of chronic disease and disability by changing perceptions about aging and making physical activity personally relevant among older frail and/or sedentary adults as well as active agers.
The “Imagine the Possibilities” Design contest is open to everyone. Designs, which must incorporate Spectrum Generations logo may be submitted through September 14, 2014 at midnight. Designated judges will then select three (3) semifinalists. Participants in the Center’s fitness and wellness programs have the opportunity to cast their vote for the design that they would like to see incorporated into a line of Spectrum Generations fitness wear and equipment. The design contest winner will receive a 6-hour personal training package with Robin Maginn, Advanced Senior Personal Trainer and Instructor ($150 value). Second place winner will receive 1 month of free fitness classes’ taught by the Center’s Senior Fitness Coordinator, Robin Maginn. For additional information and contest guidelines contact Robin at 563-1363 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
