I-95 Classic Drive and Car Show earns nearly $9,000 in donations for Camp CaPella

 BREWER/BANGOR/DEDHAM, Maine — The I-95 Classic Drive ran 9-10 a.m. Saturday from Maine Oxy in Brewer to NAPA Auto Parts in Ellsworth, where the Classic Car Show was held until 1 p.m. along with the Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause ice cream truck. The CaPella-thon last Thursday and Friday on WWMJ I-95 Radio also raised contributions, all to be donated to Camp CaPella.

Total numbers have not been fully counted, though early numbers are close to $9,000. All donations collected from these activities will be matched dollar-for-dollar by this year’s LaVerdiere Matching Funds Challenge grant. Meanwhile significant contributions of more than $1,000 each have been made by Challenge Pacesetters People’s United Bank, Maine Oxy, the Bangor Letter Shop, Pleasant River Partners, the Bangor Breakfast Rotary Club, the Bangor Lions Club, the Waterville Sunrise Rotary Club and the Skowhegan Rotary Club. 

Dana Mosher, executive director of Camp CaPella, voiced appreciation for these groups working together on behalf of the campers at Camp CaPella. “The I-95 Classic Drive and the Classic Car Show have joined together to make this one big fundraiser, thanks to the sponsors and promoters of these events.”
