I-95 CaPella-thon on WWMJ-FM
From Monday through Friday, June 18-22, 8 a.m. till 5 p.m., broadcasters on I-95, WWMJ-FM, 95.7 FM, will host an on-air CaPella-thon to raise donations from listeners to help send children with disabilities to Camp CaPella this summer. Announcers on the CaPella-thon will also preview the I-95 Classic Drive, “Miles for Smiles,” with a ride of classic cars and motorcycles on Saturday, June 23, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and driving from Cumulus Radio in Brewer east on Route 1A past Camp CaPella to Napa Auto Parts in Ellsworth, 92 Downeast Highway, where some will win prizes and all, including visitors, will enjoy free food and music from RetroRockerz.
For the “Miles for Smiles” five-day CaPella-thon from Monday through Friday, broadcasters on I-95 WWMJ-FM will preview the upcoming Classic Drive while discussing Camp CaPella with guests and raising donations to send kids to camp. Donations can be made on the I-95 website, http://wwmj-fm.com – clicking on the donation box that will lead the contributor to the Camp CaPella website for donations by credit card – or by telephone each of the five days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 989-5631
“Our thanks to Cumulus Radio for launching an event we hope will happen every year, to Napa Auto Parts for hosting the party after the ride and to the contributors who may hear the CaPella-thon story and choose to donate through ‘Miles for Smiles’ to send a child with physical or developmental disabilities to camp this summer,” adds Dana Mosher, executive director of Camp CaPella. “This will be fun for everybody involved, and contributions will be a big helping hand for us this year.”
Located on Phillips lake in Dedham, or Lucerne-in-Maine (12 miles from Bangor, 13 miles from Ellsworth), Camp CaPella (www.campcapella.org) provides quality-of-life experiences for people with disabilities and their families.
