The Belfast Rotary Club is seeking local families in the Belfast Area High School residential area to host high school-age youth from countries around the world during the 2013-2014 academic school year. These students are part of the Rotary International Youth Exchange program.
Exchange students come to the United States for one year to attend high school, to enjoy a positive life-changing experience, to grow in independence and maturity, to improve their English language skills, and to build relationships with American citizens.
Each family would host one exchange student in their home for one-half of the school year. The students are expected to share in household responsibilities as well as being included in normal family activities. Past hosts generally agree that they’ve received more than they’ve given through this experience. If your family would like to learn about another culture and share ours, this is a great way to do it.
