Holy Week services at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

ROCKLAND, Maine — Worship Services at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Rockland have been announced by the Rev. John Van Siclen, St. Peter’s transitional priest-in-charge. St. Peter’s is the little red church with the open door in downtown Rockland by the Public Library.  All are welcome.

Palm Sunday – April 13th

8:00 a.m. Blessing of the Palms and Holy Eucharist

(beginning in the Parish Hall, processing around the playground, weather permitting, and into the church)

10:30 a.m. Blessing of the Palms and Holy Eucharist, with organ & choir

(beginning in the Parish Hall, processing around the playground, weather permitting, and into the church)

     Maundy Thursday – April 17th

6:00 p.m.  Simple supper & foot washing in Parish Hall

7: 30 p.m. Holy Eucharist with the choir followed by the stripping of the altar. The chapel will be open for prayer for one hour as the Garden of Repose as a reminder of Jesus and the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Good Friday – April 18th

12:00 Noon – Stations of the Cross

5:30 p.m. - Liturgy for Good Friday 

Holy Saturday – April 19th

7:45 p.m. – The Great Vigil of Easter held at St. Peter’s in Rockland, a joining of parishioners from St. Margaret’s in Belfast, St. Thomas’ in Camden and St. John the Baptist in Thomaston and Nativity Lutheran in Rockport. The Rev. Jerry LiaBraaten of Nativity Lutheran will be the preacher.

Easter Sunday – April 20th

8:00 a.m.   Holy Eucharist

10:30a.m.  Choral Festive Eucharist
