Northport, Maine—Savvy shoppers on the Mid Coast and beyond have learned that the first place to look for unusual, finely crafted gifts for everyone on their lists is the annual ArtFull Gifts Holiday Show.
Scheduled for Friday, November 18 through Sunday, November 20, the show will again be held in a beautiful setting overlooking Penobscot Bay at Point Lookout Resort, on Route 1 in Northport between Camden and Belfast. Again this year, admission fees will benefit Coastal Mountains Land Trust and United Mid-Coast Charities.
This much-anticipated, outstanding art and craft event will feature the work of 50 talented northern New England artists and artisans. All of them were individually invited to participate based on the quality of their work. This year’s show will include a mix of returning vendors offering their newest work and new exhibitors adding their craft and art to the show. A wide range of prices ensures a selection for everyone’s budget.
The show will open with a Gala Collectors’ Evening on Friday, the 18th from 5 to 8 pm. Providing the first opportunity to meet the exhibitors and make selections from the full array of merchandise, it’s also a festive time to socialize with others who believe in buying locally created fine art and craft and supporting local charities. The gala evening will feature live jazz by Chris Poulin’s Shades of Blue as well as complimentary hors d’oeuvres from fine area restaurants and handmade appetizers by local food artisans, plus a cash bar.
Among the items available for sale will be artisan-designed jewelry in many mediums, hand-woven natural-fiber clothing, stoneware and porcelain pottery, reed baskets, stone and bronze sculptures, wooden bird carvings, artist-designed holiday cards, hand-blown glass, hand-spun woolens, original photography, and prints and paintings in numerous mediums.
Exhibitors hail from across Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. “These accomplished artists bring to ArtFull Gift a dazzling selection of imaginative, handmade gifts, fine art, and craft, all made right here in New England,” says show director Randy Fein, who will also be exhibiting her ceramic pieces. “This show is a prime opportunity for our community to purchase exceptional gifts for unique holiday giving. In addition, it’s so important to buy local and help these small artist-run businesses to thrive.”
Admission to the Friday evening Gala is $10, which also includes return entry for the entire weekend of shopping. The show continues Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, from 10 am to 4 pm. Daily admission on these days is $3.
