TOPSHAM, ME, January 22, 2014 – Highland Green Director of Marketing and Sales Will Honan has been invited to be a featured speaker at 50+ Lifestyle Central at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 6, 2014. Highland Green, located off route 196 in Topsham, has also been selected as finalist for three awards at the show.
According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) website, IBS is the largest annual light construction tradeshow in the world, with more than 70,000 expected attendees, 1500 exhibitors and 600,000+ net square feet of exhibits. Within IBS, 50+ Lifestyle Central is for builders, remodelers, designers and marketing professionals who want to be educated on the issues strategies and trends unique to the 50+ market segment. Mr. Honan’s presentation will be entitled Retooling 50+ Sales Strategies to Ride the Recovery Wave.
Highland Green was nominated for the Best 50 + Housing Awards by NAHB’s 50+ Housing Council, a nine member panel of industry experts. The community was nominated for Best Integration of Nature and Landscaping, the new Highland Green marketing brochure was designated as finalist for Best Brochure, and the marketing newsletter entitled Lifestyle: News, Personalities and Perspectives from Highland Green was chosen as finalist for Best Direct Mail Piece or Campaign. Award winners will be announced at IBS.
“We market Highland Green as a 55+ Active Lifestyle Community and have attracted new residents from 27 states and counting, so the timing is appropriate to share our experiences and strategies with a national audience and also to learn what the rest of the industry is doing around the country,” says Mr. Honan.
Jane Marie O’Connor of 55 Plus Marketing, LLC of Charlemont, Massachusetts, and member of the 50+ Housing Council points out that the NAHB predicts a 24% increase in market share for the 50+ segment in 2014. “It is nowhere but up from there,” adds O’Connor. “Baby Boomers represent 35% of the U.S. population and Highland Green’s offerings and marketing strategies are prominent examples of how to position a community to absorb the ever increasing demand for planned communities focused on active living,” she says.
