Guerette accepts new position at Maine Community Health Options

LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options, recently announced that Robert Guerette, previously an outreach and education specialist at MCHO, has accepted a new position as benefits consultant.

MCHO is a nonprofit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. The enrollment start date for the plan is Oct. 1, 2013. Organized as a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan, MCHO’s mission is to provide high-quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.

In his new role, Guerette will collaborate with insurance brokers and small businesses. He will be responsible for providing answers to questions regarding the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. He will serve as a resource for individuals and small businesses, and he will distribute information on premium tax credits afforded to qualifying businesses.

Guerette joined MCHO in 2013 and has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry as a producer and agency owner.

Maine Community Health Options is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan created with the support of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. MCHO is a private, nonprofit entity governed by a customer-based Board of Directors, which gives members a strong voice in the policy direction and further development of the plan.
