Wildlife researcher Noah Perlut will lead a presentation on grassland-nesting birds at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, March 11 at 12:00 noon.

Perlut will speak about his research on the impacts of haying and grazing on the ecology and evolution of breeding grassland songbirds, including a focus on bobolinks and savannah sparrows. His studies on grassland-nesting birds currently focus on tracking both young and adult birds through their annual migrations.

Perlut earned his PhD from the University of Vermont in 2007 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of New England. His research focuses on how birds respond to human habitat modification.

This talk part of the 2014 Winter Talk series at Merryspring, co-sponsored by Allen Insurance and Financial and The First .

Admission to Tuesday Talks is free for members of Merryspring, with a nominal fee of $5 for non-members.
