Over 35 photographers from all around Portland submitted photos to the gr8PortlandME Photo Contest on Facebook page this past October. The contest was co-sponsored by Portland Downtown District & Air Graphics.
The top 5 winners will receive a beautifully printed and mounted photograph, by Air Graphics, that will be shown at the Portland Downtown District’s offices on Congress Street for the January 4th First Friday Art Walk.
The winners were determined by the number of likes each photo received from the 1400 fans on the gr8PortlandME Facebook page. The process is exciting with different photos shifting throughout the voting period and finalizing with David Hill’s, Moon Over the Observatory, taking top spot, followed by Ryan Brownewell’s, Skyline Sunset, Brenda Giasson’s, Ghost Light, Ed Fletcher’s, Portland at Dusk, and Rocco DiDonato’s, Narrow Gauge Railroad. This is a great show for everyone who loves Portland, Maine. And if you are inspired by it go out and take a photo to submit in the Winter gr8PortlandME Photo Contest! In addition to the First Friday Art Walk hours, you can view the show at the office, Monday thru Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.
