Gillian Baruso joins Maine Community Health Options growing team

LEWISTON, Maine — Kevin Lewis, CEO of Maine Community Health Options (MCHO), recently announced that Gillian Baruso has joined the organization as a special project manager. MCHO is a not-for-profit, CO-OP health plan that will provide health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014. Enrollment in the plan is slated for October 1, 2013.

Gillian will play an essential role in ensuring that critical operational projects are executed efficiently and effectively within the company. She will play an important role on multiple teams within the organization, including operations, HR and consumer outreach and education. She will be responsible for managing all aspects of a variety of special projects.

Baruso most recently worked at Humana, where she serviced operations as a business analyst, consultant and a variety of management roles. Her work included project management for two acquisitions, establishing a service model for the launch of a new consumer wellness program, facilitating business planning and strategy for senior leaders, and leading a service-center-based, project management office.

Baruso, who resides in Portland, has an MA in Human Resource Management from the University of Cincinnati and a BA in English from the University of New Hampshire.
