Giggey Girl Gowns Opening April 15th with Free Formal Wear

Posted April 10, 2012, at 10:23 p.m.

My name is Kassidy Giggey and it is my great pleasure to inform you that Giggey Girl Gowns will be opening for its second year, this Sunday, April 15th 2012. Giggey Girl Gowns is a dress donation organization located at the Community of Christ Church in Brewer. We collect carefully worn prom dresses, and give them away for free, with the hopes of creating a free formal experience for all who walk through the door. We provide clothes for girls, and are currently expanding our men’s selection. We currently have over 200 dresses to choose from, as well as shoes, jewelry, and accessories. We also have a few tuxes, suit jackets, dress shirts, and ties. We would love to be able to help everyone have a nearly free prom experience this year. The average cost spent on prom each year is $870.00, nearly $300.00 being spent on the dress alone. With the economy still looking grim in Maine, many students can’t afford this cost to go to prom. We want everyone to be able to enjoy their prom experience without having to worry about the cost. Unlike many other dress organizations, we are open multiple days during the prom season, and are always open by appointment. We will be open from April 15th to June10th every Sunday from 1-3pm, and are always open by appointment for the convenience of dress donaters and lookers. If you would like any more information concerning this organization and how you can get involved, please contact me, Kassidy Giggey, by email at giggeygirlgowns@gmail.com . I will reply as soon as possible!
