Get ready to rock in Calais to Elton John Tribute Band

CALAIS , Maine —  Although Sir Elton John does not have this border community on his list of upcoming concerts, Yellow Brick Road Band: a tribute to Elton John concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Washington County Community College in Calais.

The event is sponsored by the Calais Rotary Club. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students with IDs. Concert goers also are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the local food pantries.

Rotarian Carl Royer, who helped bring the concert to Calais, said that Gerald Brann, who in costume looks like Sir Elton, is an outstanding perform and gives every concert “his all” . “All I can say is this man is phenomenal. Yellow Brick Road band will have people rocking in their seats and dancing in the aisles,” he said. “The show has a great light show and really fantastic music.” He also added “last time they played in Calais, it was a full house of over 400 people.”

Rotary President Bill Kolodnicki agreed. “We are really fortunate to have such great talent performing here in the border city. I would love to see a huge turnout. We can show Gerald that we really appreciate talent Downeast. People will not leave the concert disappointed because this man is truly talented,” he said.

Tickets are available at the Boston Shoe Store or Artemis’ Attic or from a local Rotarian.
