Geology walk June 28 at Brooksville

BROOKSVILLE, Maine — Blue Hill Heritage Trust’s summer walk and talk series begins with a geology walk led by George Fields 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 28, at John B. Mountain in Brooksville, focusing on  local geological features, including volcanic rock.  The group will meet at John B. Mountain, walk along the trail to the summit of the mountain, examine exposed rock and enjoy views of the coast for a total of about a mile. Fields is a professional geologist in Maine and New Hampshire and joined the trust’s staff as its first association director in February. Free and open to children and adults.  Pre-registration is required by contacting Eileen at 374-5118 or eileen@bluehillheritagetrust.org by Friday, June 27, to secure a spot.
