MACHIAS, Maine – The University of Maine at Machias will host guest speaker Roger Doiron, garden writer and founder of Kitchen Gardeners International, for a presentation at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Performing Arts Center. The talk is part of the Four Seasons of Food and Community lecture and workshop series.
Doiron’s talk, “A Subversive Plot: Sowing the Seeds of a Healthy Revolution,” will focus on how to feed a growing population nutritiously, sustainably and deliciously using a depleted resource base.
The Four Seasons of Food and Community lecture and workshop series at UMM was designed to raise awareness and increase participation in local food efforts, and is a collaboration with the Washington County Food and Fuel Alliance.
