The Friends of Fort Knox report that over 9,000 visitors attended their “Fright at the Fort” Halloween season fundraiser the past two weekends. Approximately one hundred volunteers from the Penobscot Job Corps, Searsport High Drama club and community volunteers pitched in to help run the vent. The Friends report a record level of income resulting in tens of thousands of dollars, which will be used for Fort Knox projects.

Proceeds from the Fright event helps the Friends of Fort Knox fulfill their mission to restore Fort Knox and enhance its educational, cultural and economic value for the people of Maine. Masonry work currently underway at the Fort is funded, in part, by last year’s Fright proceeds.
