Friends of Wilson Ponds Annual Franklin C. McIver Scholarship

Friends of Wilson Ponds created the Franklin C. McIver Scholarship with the purpose of sending teens to the Teen Wilderness Expedition. Friends is proud to announce that Devin Lauritsen and Tracer St. Jean received the first annual scholarships. Both Devin and Tracer are students at Greenville Middle School. Devin is an avid outdoorsman and Tracer appears to like snakes.

Teen Wilderness Expedition 2017 included both recreational and educational outdoor experiences to learn about the natural resources of our region. Teens engaged in hands-on learning sessions and fun outdoor recreational activities. Teens enjoyed a 3-day, 2-night stay at Appalachian Mountain Club’s Medawisla Lodge. TWE is made possible by the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
