Friends of Lake Winnecook (aka Unity Pond) Annual Meeting

Saturday, Aug 3rd 9:00am American Legion Hall

Windemere Lane, Unity

The board of directors of Friends of Lake Winnecook, also known as Unity Pond, invite you to join them for their annual meeting on August 3rd at 9:00am at the American Legion Hall on Windemere Lane in Unity.

Lake Winnecook suffers from poor water quality and the potential for infestation by aquatic invasive plants. The lake ranks as one of the worst lakes in Maine for water clarity by the Maine Lake Volunteer Monitoring Program. This year the lake association is trying to address these problems with several initiatives. Our guest speaker for the annual meeting will be Paul Gregory who heads up the aquatic invasive plant program at the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

Come learn and get involved in trying to improve water quality in Unity Pond. Join us at 9:00 for light snacks, and coffee. Meet your lake neighbors and learn what projects the association is trying to tackle. The FOLW is always looking for more volunteers to serve on our board of directors.

Find out more about FOLW and the quality of our local resource by liking the Friends of Lake Winnecook Facebook page!
