Free Medical Interpretation Training

Mano en Mano will be facilitating a free training for medical interpreters in Washington and Hancock Counties in order to increase access to medical services for non-English speakers.
This is day long training separated into two parts. The morning training will cover Standards of Practice, ethical guidelines and industry terminology, while the afternoon will include extensive role plays and specific situations for interpretation in small communities. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
All persons participating in the medical interpreter training should already be bilingual. The training will include Spanish medical terms, but the policies, practices, and ethics of medical interpretation can be applied to any language interpretation.
Please reserve your spot by emailing kbrinks@manomaine.org or calling 207-546-3006.
Funding for this training was graciously provided by the Downeast Community Transformation Collaborative.
