With the flu reaching epidemic proportions in some areas, Waldo County General Hospital is offering free flu shots to children under 18 years old on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The shots will be given on a first come, first served basis in the Education Center (the small white building beside the hospital).
There will also be nasal mist available.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone six months of age or older get a flu vaccine every year. Even healthy kids of any age can get seriously sick from the flu, and they can spread it to family, friends, and others.
