FORT KENT, Maine – The University of Maine, Fort Kent’s Blake Library Gallery and Therese Provenzano, UMFK Adjunct Visual Art Instructor, will host its fourth annual “Young Artist Exhibition” featuring talented young artists from the St. John Valley public schools. The exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, May 15 through Thursday, May 31.
A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the reception and awards ceremony. UMFK President Wilson G. Hess will present the awards and congratulate the students.
Schools participating in this year’s exhibition are Wisdom Middle High School, Madawaska Middle High School, River Valley Middle School, and Community High School of Fort Kent.
Students’ art work, from Wisdom Middle High School, are Shana Paradis, Annie Ouellette, Sadie Babin, Mindy Guerrette, Nicole Oakes, Stephan Benbow, Christopher Jacobs, Kelsie Tardif, Kurt Blanchette, Chelsi Albert, Angel Zarins, Vanessa Barriere. The art teacher is Theresa Cerceo.
The Madawaska Middle High School is represented by Daley Pedersen, Elizabeth Theriault, Julia Richards, and Shannon Dionne. Carlene Levesque is the art teacher.
Valley Rivers Middle School is represented by Charles Parham, Celina Babin, Parker Jandreau, Gabrielle Dumond, Hannah Daigle, and Adrianna Levesque. The art teacher is Marybeth Jackson.
Community High School of Fort Kent is represented by Crystal Charette, Mikayla Michaud, Jessica Becker, Nick Levesque, Kris Michaud, Michaela Desjardins, Savannah Paradis, Samantha Carapellucci, Cassidy Spencer, Kathie Ouellette, Olivia Chouinard, and Bryce Carter. Doug Clapp is the art teacher.
