Four tours of the Valley offered during CMA 2014
ST. JOHN VALLEY – Four tours of the St. John Valley are being offered during the 2014 Congrès Mondial Acadien.
The CMA 2014 Maine Regional Coordinating Committee and Cyr Bus Lines have teamed up to offer the tours that will leave from Madawaska and head either east or west for what will most probably be all-day excursions.
The purpose of the tours is to have passengers discover what the St. John Valley has to offer. Each stop will provide the passengers with an introduction to the site, learn about the major highlights of the site, as well as an opportunity to tour the site. With this exposure, the passengers can later return to the sites for a more in-depth visit.
Included with each tour, the passengers will enjoy a traditional Acadian meal.
This is a great opportunity for passengers to learn more about the St. John Valley, to experience first-hand what the Valley has to offer, all from the comfort of a travel bus coach.
The West/Central Tour, held on August 11, will travel from Madawaska to Fort Kent and will celebrate the history and settlement of this area.
The East Tour, held on August 12 and again on August 19, has the theme of the Acadian life in the St. John Valley – then and now.
The Central/South Tour, held on August 13 and again on August 20, will showcase the 235 years of Acadian history, where it all started and what is being done to preserve it.
The West Tour, held on August 18, will travel from Madawaska to Allagash and will highlight the history of lumbering and the lure of the Allagash River.
