(Prospect) The Friends of Fort Knox summer special event season starts-off with a bang this Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, with the return of Civil War reenactor Amy McCrae and her full sized period cannon. Amy McCrae’s cannon produces thunderous fire and presents an excellent photographic opportunity for visitors.
On Friday, July 4th, from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM, visitors can rock out to the sounds of the Elton John tribute band, “Yellow Brick Road”, on the Fort parade grounds. This marks the third performance of the band at the Fort and has been well received in past visits. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
The popular Scottish Tattoo bagpipe performance, featuring four different bands, will make its return to Fort Knox, Saturday, July 12, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM. The Scottish Tattoo is sponsored by the St. Andrews Society of Maine and the Friends of Fort Knox. Tickets for the Tattoo are $10 for individuals and $5 per child and may be purchased in advance at the Fort gift shop or by calling 469-6553.
