Fort Kent Legion looking to start Sons of the American Legion Squadron

Martin-Klein Post 133 is looking for those interested in becoming members of a newly forming Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 0133.

Founded in 1932, Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires.

SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion comprise the Legion family, which has a combined membership of nearly 4.2 million.

There are many events of the local post that SAL members will be excited in assisting with to include but not limited to:

Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Night (November 5, 2013)

Veterans Day Services

Marking of Veterans Graves

Helping to develop and build a Veterans Museum & Community Center

Parades & Memorial Day Services

Freedom Fest, an outdoor concert to raise funds for the American Legion’s Veterans Museum & Community Center
