Forest Hills has three voted in to All Star 2014 Basketball teams

JACKMAN, Maine — Forest Hills School is proud to announce that boys basketball Coach Anthony Amero, girls basketball Coach Mike Leblanc and senior Kori Coro have been voted as members of the 2014 McDonald’s All-Star basketball teams.

Coach Amero and Leblanc were voted in to be the coach of the boys and girls Class C and D Western Maine teams respectively — a rarity to have two coaches from one school nominated and awarded.

Kori Coro was voted as one of the top girls’ basketball players from both Class C and Class D teams in the Western Maine Conference.

Practices will be held Friday, March 7, at the University of Maine New Balance Center. An awards banquet will be held Friday night for the players and coaches at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The games will be held Saturday,March 8, at Husson University.  The girls C/D team will play at 11 a.m. and the boys C/D team will play at 12:45 p.m.

All events will run from 8:30 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Saturday at Husson. Besides the Class C/D and A/B games there will be foul shooting and slam dunk competitions and awards. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Besides enjoying a day of basketball with great talents being displayed, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.
