On Friday, August 22, from 2:00-5:00pm, the Cobscook Community Learning Center will offer a wild plant foraging workshop with well known Maine plant author Tom Seymour. The workshop incorporates a digital presentation featuring wild edible plants lasting approximately one hour followed by a question-and-answer session. Following the presentation, the class will walk local trails where Tom will find and identify useful wild plants and discuss their uses.
Tom Seymour is a magazine and newspaper columnist, book author, naturalist and forager. His current magazine work includes regular columns for The Maine Sportsman and Fisherman’s Voice magazines. Tom also writes an opinion column (RFD Maine) and a home-and-garden column for Courier Publications. His latest books include Nuts & Berries of New England and a newly-revised Wild Plants Of Maine. Participants are urged to bring cameras, notebooks, field guides, and insect repellent.
