LINNEUS, Maine — Mike White, owner of White Family Freight Inc., an independent contracting company in Linneus, recently was honored as a FedEx Ground Entrepreneur of the Year district-level winner.

Of the more than 8,500 small businesses that provide pickup and delivery services on behalf of FedEx Ground, only 89 were recognized for most consistently going the extra mile to safely deliver superior customer service, helping fellow delivery business owners succeed, and supporting their local communities.

White Family Freight was the only business selected from Maine.

White Family Freight Inc. employs nine people and has been serving Aroostook County for more than five years.

White is a selectman in Linneus and is involved in the town’s recreation department as a coach for basketball and tee ball teams.

Of the 89 district-level winners, FedEx Ground will recognize the 17 region-level winners on Oct. 10, at a private banquet in Pittsburgh, Pa. Three national-level winners will be announced at that time.
