EMDC-EMCC partner to offer training course

BANGOR, Maine — Individuals looking to gain or improve the skills needed to succeed as an administrative professional will have access to a free training course thanks to a partnership between Eastern Maine Development Corp. and Eastern Maine Community College.

“The Office 101” will develop and enhance skills in technology, communication, business and professionalism that are important to succeeding as an administrative professional.

The course is available to those looking for their first position in this field as well as those currently working who want to update or increase their knowledge. This is a noncredit course and participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon fulfilling all requirements. Those looking to enroll must qualify for Workforce Investment Act services, which are available in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Hancock counties through EMDC.

Classes will be held 1-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning April 1, for five weeks, at Eastern Maine Community College’s Rangeley Hall, Room 107.
