The famous Egglympics for children will be held in Hathorn Park, Pittsfield’s oldest park located off Somerset Avenue.
Make sure that your children participate in some of these great favorites of the Egg Festival. Its fun and games with some physical exercise for all.
Events start at 10:30 am with the 5 “Egg” Relay for ages 3-6 and at 11:00 am for ages 7-11. Then its time to participate in the fun Egg Toss for ages 3-6 at 11:00 am and ages 7-11 at 11:30 am. 12:00 noon brings the famous
“Rubber Chicken Throw” for both ages 3-6 and ages 7-11. An Egglympics favorite is the Watermelon Roll at 12:30 pm for both Ages 3-6 and ages 7-11. Ages 3-6 will participate in the Old-Fashioned Wheel at 1:00 pm while ages 7-11 will be trying out the Barrow Race. The Egglympics would not be complete without a Water Balloon Toss on a hot July day. The water balloon toss will be held at 1:30 pm for both age groups. All ages will participate in “Kick Egg-Ball” from 2 to 3:30 pm. It will be fun to cool off at 3:30 pm for ages 7 – 15 in the “Great American Squirt Gun Fight.” The event would not be complete without Face Painting and the Coloring Table for all ages from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm. Game rules are listed in the Egg Festival Booklet, copies are available on the Town of Pittsfield website by clicking the Egg Festival Category and scrolling down to the Egg Festival Book download or copies can be picked up at the Town Office. In case of rain, events will be held at the Warsaw Gym.
On Wednesday evening, July 17, the Egg Festival continues at Hathorn Park with some exciting music by three live bands. From 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Steve Peterson & Friends will play at the Gazebo. Riff Johnson will play from 7:00 – 8:00 pm and then The Resistance will be on from 8:00 – 9:00 pm. Bring your lawn chair and listen to some fine tunes or come prepared to dance the night away. These are really good bands!
