Ecopsychology explored in program at Bar Harbor Library

Posted May 18, 2013, at 4 p.m.

BAR HARBOR — Discover the emerging field of ecopsychology, at a presentation on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at the Jesup Memorial Library.

Dennis Kiley from the Institute for Integrative Living will give this presentation about an emerging discipline that integrates the fields of ecology and psychology to support environmental and human growth.

During this lecture and discussion, he will explore three principal features of ecopsychology: developing a psychological understanding for humans’ unhealthy relationship with and treatment of the natural world; learning how insights from psychology can improve the environmental movement’s communication, activism and participation with their communities; cultivating awareness of how the integration of the core principles of ecology can support thriving in individuals, groups and organizations.

Like all programs at the Jesup, this one is free and open to all.
