COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine — The Downeast Salmon Federation 2014 annual Smelt Fry will be held 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 18, on the grounds of the Columbia Falls Fire Department, Main Street.
The menu features many locally grown, regional foods and includes smelts deep-fried to perfection, delicious dinner items and dessert. This is a wonderful celebration of DSF friends, families and supporters that turn out for this one of kind event.
There will be a bounce house for the little ones, award presentations for the winning artwork of the 2014 DSF Washington County Student Art Contest, raffles and more. Come and join us for this Downeast Rite of Spring experience. This is a great event to celebrate the work of DSF, our partners and the community Downeast.
The cost is $10 per adult, $5 for children with a maximum of $30 for families (immediate family only). Admission to the dinner begins at 5 p.m.
For those who arrive a bit earlier, the Wild Salmon Resource Center, Historic Smelt Camp and the Pleasant River Hatchery facilities will be open for public tours from 4-5 pm.
