BANGOR, Maine – The American Folk Festival has announced blues musician Diunna Greenleaf will perform at the three-day festival Aug. 22-24 on the Bangor waterfront.
Diunna draws her musical style from those who have influenced her, including Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, and Koko Taylor. She is from Houston, Texas, and had performed at the folk festival in 2008.

“Diunna will bring a level of musicianship and energy that will only increase the excitement around this year’s edition of the American Folk Festival,” said Heather McCarthy, executive director of the Festival. “We have a diverse and well-rounded lineup that will give virtually every musical taste something to look forward to on what is shaping up to be an amazing weekend on the Bangor waterfront.”

Diunna Greenleaf replaces Bernard Allison, who will not be performing at the American Folk Festival.
