Thinking about starting a road association but don’t know where to begin? The Hancock County and Penobscot County Soil and Water Conservation Districts will be holding a Forming Road Associations Workshop on Saturday, May 4th, from 9:00am-12:30pm, in the Bangor USDA Building. This hands-on workshop will walk you through the proper steps to forming a statutory road association (the least complicated type of legal road association). From picking a name, to creating by-laws, we will help you get information down on paper specific to your road so you can form an association and be able to collect road dues, get needed work done on your road, and enable liability protection. Pre-registration is required by calling either District office at 667-8663 or 941-1043. Cost: $15 for one person or $15 for two people from the same road (we strongly encourage two people from each road to attend, which is why there is no fee for the second person).
