Orono – Dirigo Pines Inn earned recognition from Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS) at the Annual Eastern Maine Group (EMG) Workers Compensation Trust Fund meeting for their commitment to workplace safety and claims management.
On March 26 Dirigo Pines Inn was presented the Annual award for their commitment and dedication to employee safety and in striving for excellence in loss prevention and returning injured employees back to the workplace.
According to EMHS Director of Self Insurance Cheryl Russell, all EMHS affiliates in good standing that are a member of the system’s self-insured workers compensation Trust for at least three years are eligible to receive the award. Russell went on to say that the leader of this organization is always challenging supervisors and managers to look for ways in which to improve upon safety of the employees and residents that they serve. All incidents are investigated and re-enacted to ensure that the root cause is truly identified and the appropriate corrective action plan is put in place.
“We are very proud to be recognized for this award, but more importantly for the work our team does every day to keep injured employees involved in their recovery,” said Dirigo Pines Inn Executive Director Maggie Michaud RN.
