“Dexter Community Musicians present an afternoon Holiday Concert and Cantata”

DEXTER- Dexter Community Band and Brass Choir will perform Sunday, Dec 16, at 2 pm, at Dexter Town Hall, 23 Main St. The group, along with guest piano accompaniment, will perform traditional sacred and secular music.

The program includes a Jingle Bell Suite, in Jazz and Rock style. To make the holidays even sweeter, the group will perform Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Clarinet Marmalade, ‘Lasses Candy, and Pink Lemonade. Musical styles in this “sweet” section include classical, Dixie, and circus march. The brass ensemble will also be

performing Canadian brass tunes.

The afternoon will continue across the street, at the First Baptist Church at 4 pm, with a Christmas Cantata performed by the Greater Dexter Community Chorus under the direction Shirley Grant.
